City University of Hong Kong has established 1 University Research Institute, 19 Research Centres, and 4 Applied Strategic Development Centres in identified areas of strategic importance to provide focus for and foster interdisciplinary or multidisciplinary research.
The University has also obtained approval from the Ministry of Science and
Technology of China to establish two State Key Laboratories at CityU.
