BICI HK Collaborative Research Program (自主课题)

Beijing Institute of Collaborative Innovation (BICI) supports R&D projects in the following research areas:

Research Areas of Interest

Focus areas:  Intelligent robot, visible light communication and positioning system, new energy materials, water treatment, medical imaging engineering, omics and health management, semiconductor optoelectronic, intelligent manufacturing
Other areas: Simulation and design, advanced accelerator, laser technology, smart grid, space information, modern communication technology, financial technology, optoelectronic technology, nanometer materials and carbon materials, energy saving and emission reduction, air pollution control, biomedical engineering, photovoltaic agriculture, food science and engineering

Selection Criteria

Each proposal will be evaluated based on the following criteria:

  • Project Rationale: Target Market/Unmet Need
  • Competing Technologies and Benefit Analysis
  • Research Stage/Description of Technology
  • Translational Research Plan
  • Quarterly Milestones
  • Commercialization Potential
  • Intellectual Property

Application & Submission

The application process is divided into two phases. Applicants are required to submit initial proposals (either in Chinese or English) and the shortlisted applicants will be invited to submit full proposals (in Chinese). 

Please submit a hard copy of the initial application with the signed endorsement form to RO and email a soft copy (in MS Word format) of the application to rose@cityu.edu.hk.

CityU internal deadline for initial applications: 27 March 2017
