TCFS aims to strengthen collaboration on R&D between organizations in Hong Kong and Guangdong Province. Projects funded by the TCFS will have to demonstrate an element of Guangdong/Hong Kong cooperation (e.g. collaboration between research institutes and enterprises in Guangdong and Hong Kong). Applications fall under the announced themes will be considered by the ITC or ITC’s R&D Centres. Industry sponsorship is required for each application.
Application Details
(1) Programmes
Platform Research Projects - Requires industry sponsorship support from at least two companies with total cash/in-kind contribution of no
less than 10% of the total project cost. Financial contribution from other sources (e.g. university, charitable organizations, venture
capitalists and project team members) is welcome, but is not mandatory and cannot be counted as part of the industry sponsorship.
Collaborative Research Projects - For a private company collaborates with a local university or research institute, application requires cash and/or in-kind contribution of no less than 50% of the total project cost (or no less than 30% for the R&D Centre projects).

Cash Rebate for Company Sponsors of ITF Projects
Company sponsors will receive a cash rebate equivalent to 30% of its expenditure (cash and in-kind contributions) in the funded ITF projects.
