Sumitomo Foundation Research Grant

The Sumitomo Foundation is a non-profit grant-making organization established in 1991 in purpose of contributing to the betterment of human society. In order to promote the mutual understanding between Japan and other Asian countries, the Sumitomo Foundation invites applications for the Grant for Japan-related Research Projects.

The grant supports individual and collaborative Japan-related projects of one year duration in the field of social sciences or humanities. The reference grant amount for each project is between JPY0.3 and JPY1.2 million (~HK$119,300). Applicants must be of Asian nationality living outside Japan.
