Nano & Advanced Materials Institute Limited (NAMI) established with funding support from the Innovation and Technology Commission of the HKSAR Government, is now inviting applications for the following programmes:
Platform Research Programme - The programme requires support from at least one industry sponsor with a total cash contribution of no less than 10% of the total project cost.
Waiver of industry sponsorship requirement for Platform Research Projects
The ITC may consider waiving the sponsorship requirement for projects initiated by Government bureaux/departments and statutory bodies#. Applicants who wish to apply for the waiver should include the following information in the proposal:
Collaborative Research Programme - Applications are open to private companies who should collaborate with a local public-funded research institution. The programme requires the industry sponsor to make a cash contribution of no less than 30% of the total project cost.
Cash Rebate for Company Sponsors of ITF projects:
Company sponsors will receive a cash rebate equivalent to 40% of its expenditure (cash and in-kind contributions) in the funded ITF projects. Details of the ITC Cash Rebate Scheme is available at the ITC website: http://www.itc.gov.hk/en/funding/crs.htm
Applications can be submitted throughout the year.
Submission of Application
Applicants are required to complete the "Indication of Intention for Proposal Submission" and submit it to NAMI (email: email@example.com) before the submission of the full proposal, with a copy sent to RO (email: firstname.lastname@example.org) for records.
Full proposals must be submitted electronically through the ITCFAS II at the ITF website: https://itcfas.itf.gov.hk/itcfas/
University’s endorsement is required for each application. Please send a softcopy of the application to RO (email: email@example.com) and forward the signed endorsement form to RO before submission via ITCFAS II.

Please include the following budget items in each application:
1) External audit fees ($8,000 per year for total project cost less than 1 million. $14,000 per year for total project cost between $1 million and $5 million, $20,000 per year for total project cost more than $5 million), and
2) Administrative overhead charge:
Platform Research Projects: 15% x Total [Manpower+ Equipment+ Other Direct Cost - Industry Sponsorship]
Collaborative Research Projects: 15% x Total [Manpower + Equipment + Other Direct Cost]
