Terms and Membership
Quality Assurance Committee was established by the Senate in 1993.
Terms of Reference
-
To advise the Senate through the Academic Policy Committee on principles, policies and procedures relating to quality assurance of teaching,
learning and assessment and other related matters as requested by the Academic Policy Committee.

To conduct audits and other reviews as requested by the Academic Policy Committee, and report on the quality assurance mechanisms and quality
of the offerings of the academic units.

To review external assessments of academic units and their programmes.

To advise the Academic Policy Committee on the quality assurance mechanisms of research activities in the University.

To promote quality assurance through various means.

To facilitate the development and dissemination of good practices in quality assurance throughout the university.

To appoint sub-committees, working parties and similar bodies for the purpose of discharging the duties of the Committee,
and to approve their terms of reference and membership.

To report on its business to the Senate via the Academic Policy Committee at such intervals as the Senate may decide.
