Institutional Analysis

The Institutional Anlaysis group (IAG) within the Office of the Provost serves as a central repository for institutional data. The University through its Strategic Plan is committed to pursuing evidence-based academic decision-making. The primary purpose in collecting and analyzing institutional data is to support evidence-based decision making, including monitoring progress towards achieving the Strategic Plan's goals and targets. To these ends, the IAG provides accurate, timely and verifiable performance information to support senior management, colleges, schools, departments and programmes in their academic planning and decision-making. Institutional data, including performance information, are delivered to University managers through the Executive Information System.

The IAG is also responsible for reporting annually to the University Grants Committee a series of statistics covering student, staff, finance and research in the Common Data Collection Exercise; it also responds to the Government's requests for other statistical returns from time to time.
