Brief Description
(Suspension of admissions from 2021 entry)

This programme has consolidated with the MA in Urban Management, and be retitled as MA in Housing and Urban Management from 2021 onwards.

Candidates who are interested in Housing Studies are recommended to apply for the MA in Housing and Urban Management – Housing Stream for the 2021 entry.

The MAHS programme offers a unique integration of theories as well as practices related to the field of housing management. It targets both local and non-local students who are aspiring to build a professional career in housing. Comprising both academics and senior practitioners, the teaching team specialises in a wide range of professional competencies. Through the courses in the programme, students are introduced to the most up-to-date ideas and debates in the field, and are provided with the skill sets required to make good a career in a highly competitive age.

Programme aims
The programme is designed to meet the educational requirements of the professional accreditation of the Hong Kong Institute of Housing (HKIH) and the Chartered Institute of Housing (CIH). Courses are offered by various departments of CityU. The curriculum aims at equipping students with a multi-disciplinary based professional knowledge. The aims of the programme are:

•   To train professional housing managers for both the public and private housing sectors in Hong Kong and the Region;
•   To equip graduates with a thorough understanding of the social, political, economic, legal and physical institutions within the context of housing management; and
•   To furnish graduates with high level analytic and management skills for the personal enhancement of the graduate in their future career as well as further development of the profession.
