Policy Studies is a multi-disciplinary and inter-disciplinary cluster that offers research and teaching in a range of public policy areas such as healthcare, labour, housing, environment, transport and urban governance. It addresses pressing and emerging theoretical and policy issues both locally and internationally.
Our team, comprising experts with different professions and fields of expertise, includes architects, environmental specialists, geographers, housing managers, economists and social policy researchers, surveyors and urban sociologists. It is at the forefront of cutting-edge public policy research. Apart from making substantial contributions to academic discussion, we also inform and influence public debate over various policy issues.
Our team members actively engage with the international academic communities and local policy communities through organizing conferences and other knowledge transfer activities as well as participating in government advisory bodies, NGOs, local think tanks and professional institutes. Research themes of our team include city and neighbourhood, housing policy, urban sustainability, regional development, social segregation, urban justice, environmental governance, city culture and creative city.
