Professor Michael Pecht presented a three‐hour short course to Underwriters Laboratory (UL) on the topic of "Reliability and Testing Issues with FR‐4 Circuit Boards" on 29 June 2011, in Tokyo, Japan. Prof. Pecht's presentation was broadcast to UL offices in other countries, including Taiwan and the U.S. Prof. Pecht discussed some of the latest reliability problems that he has been observing with laminates and PCBs, and also addressed problems with current testing standards.
