The IEEE 2011 Prognostics and System Health Management PHM-2011 Conference was held May 23–25, 2011, in ShenZhen, China. The conference, chaired by Professor Michael Pecht, attracted nearly 200 international experts and representatives from industry, academia, and government agencies, including Lenovo, Huawei Technology, Emerson Network Power, NASA, EADS, Academy of Armored Force Engineering, the University of Maryland, Tsinghua University, CAPE (AVIC), the National University of Defense Technology, Beihang University, and others. The conference covered PHM theory as well as industrial applications of PHM in aerospace, computers, building services, power and electronics systems, and health care and medical technologies.
Prior to the conference, two informative tutorials presented by distinguished researchers. The morning tutorial was "Reliability, Diagnostics, Systems Health Management and Prognostics." The afternoon session was about PHM implementation in China. Both tutorials were followed by lively discussions between the audience and the presenters. In the 3rd day of the conference, Dr. Bhaskar Saha from NASA delivered a tutorial on the topic of "Battery Health Management for Electric Vehicles".
On the first official day of the conference, there were keynote speakers from leading organizations who shared their expertise in PHM in a wide variety of applications. Speakers from a number of major government agencies, universities and research centers—including NASA, US Air Force, Vanderbilt University Yokohama National University, Seoul National University and University of Greenwich—participated in the event, delivering critical insights on the latest research in prognostics and health management. The conference had 8 presentation sessions that covered the latest research in PHM including "DFT and PHM", "Advanced Sensor and Detection Technologies", "Condition Monitoring, Diagnosis and Prediction", "Computational Modeling and Numerical Analysis", "Electronics Health Monitoring and Failure Analysis", "PHM for Avionics", "Maintenance Decision", Quality Control, Standard and Framework". CityU PHM team presented 4 papers on PHM applications for Hard Disk Drives, Batteries, Cooling Fans and Rotating Systems. There were over 100 other presentations ranging from fundamental theory of prognostics to specific applications.
The PHM-2011 Shenzhen conference has created an international platform for networking, exchanging ideas and future collaborations. Participants thoroughly enjoyed the conference. The conference papers will be published by IEEE Xplore.

2011年IEEE故障预测与系统健康管理会议于2011年5月23日-25日在中国深圳举行。这次会议由Michael Pecht教授担任主席，吸引了将近200位来自工业、学术和政府机构等不同领域的国际专家和代表人物参加，他们主要来自联想集团、华为、艾默生网络能源公司、NASA、EADS、装甲兵工程学院、马里兰大学、清华大学、CAPE(AVIC)、国防科技大学、北京航空航天大学等。这次会议涵盖了PHM理论以及PHM在航空航天、计算机、建筑服务、电力和电子系统、卫生保健和医疗技术等不同领域的工业应用。
在会议正式开始之前，有两个由杰出的专家带来的指导教程。上午的教程是"可靠性、诊断、健康管理和预测系统。"下午的部分是关于PHM在中国的执行情况。两个教程结束之后，紧跟着就是主持人和观众之间的激烈讨论。在会议的第三天，来自美国太空总处的Bhaskar Saha博士做了一个主题为"电动汽车电池健康管理"的教程报告。
会议正式开始的第一天，来自领导机构的主讲嘉宾们分享了他们关于PHM在多种不同领域应用的专业知识和技能。主讲嘉宾们主要来自许多政府机构、大学、研究中心，包括美国太空总处、美国空军、范德比尔特大学、横滨国立大学、汉城国立大学、格林威治大学等；会议中，他们提供了关于故障预测与系统健康管理最新研究成果的敏锐观点。会议分八个演讲讨论小组，主题分别是："DFT和PHM"、"先进的传感器和检测技术"、"状态监测、故障诊断与预测"、"计算模型与数值分析"、"电子健康监测和失效分析"、"航空电子技术中的PHM "、"维护决定"、"质量控制、标准和框架"。城巿大學的PHM团队也呈现了四篇关于PHM在硬盘驱动器、电池、散热风扇和旋转系统中应用的报告文章。本次会议总计有100多个涉及范围从预测基本理论到具体应用的报告。
2011年深圳PHM会议成功创造了一个联系、交流和未来合作的平台，使每个参会者都充分享受到了它的美妙。参会者的报告文章将会由IEEE Xplore出版。
