PhD Opportunity:
Ecology of antimicrobial resistance/zoonoses

We are seeking applications from potential PhD students with an interest in the ecology of antimicrobial resistance and zoonotic diseases. Come and join a committed, energetic, and growing group of researchers based at the Jockey Club College of Veterinary Medicine and Life Sciences.

Topic: Ecology of antimicrobial resistance and selected zoonoses
Student characteristics:
  • Graduate in Veterinary Medicine or a related field
  • Strong interest in the complex epidemiology of antimicrobial resistance and infectious diseases
  • University or veterinary school rank will be taken into account
  • Cumulative GPA of 3.5 or more on a scale of 4, or equivalent
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills in English
  • Good interpersonal skills
  • Lateral thinker
  • Not at risk of ban from entering the United States or Hong Kong
  • Prior research experience in infectious disease epidemiology is desirable
Financial support: PhD students in this programme are eligible to apply for scholarship
Duration: 4 years, starting in 2019
