Web Care Award 2004 (Primary Level)


Dr. K.B. Chuah of MEEM is receiving Web Care Award 2004 from Mr. Paul K.W. Tang, Director of Social Welfare Department. Plaque of Web Care Award 2004 (Primary Level)

On 15 May 2004, the Web Care Award 2004 presentation ceremony was held in Cyberport, Hong Kong. The Department of MEEM, among over 70 organizations, was presented the award in recognition of their efforts in creating accessible web sites for persons with different needs.

The Objectives of Web Care Award:

  1. To recognise barrier-free web sites in accordance with guidelines as stipulated in the "Easy Guide to Building No Barrier Web Sites".
  2. To educate corporations, organisations and the public in the primary elements of an accessible web site.
  3. To encourage the public as well as private sectors in Hong Kong in provision of barrier-free Internet services.

Web sites will be awarded only if they have fulfilled or achieved all three attributes listed below:

  1. Effective Communication of Ideas
  2. Proper Use of Language
  3. Clever Use of Graphic Design
