MEEM has a good track record of collaborations and links with local professional establishments and industrial enterprises. In recent years, MEEM places even stronger emphasis on links with the wider community in Hong Kong as well as the mainland China, especially in the Pearl River Delta region. The expertise and knowledge in technology application of MEEM staff are well sought after by local industries, as evidence in the large amount of industry-related funding support for our applied research projects, and the exceptionally large number of industrial placement for MEEM students, through the IAS and Co-op Scheme. MEEM will continue to offer seminar and workshops to disseminate results of our applied research work, to transfer technology through consultancy and tailor-made training courses to meet the needs of manufacturing enterprises in Hong Kong and the Pearl River Delta region. To a much wider global community, MEEM has extended its reach to our counterparts in northern America, Europe and Asia. We have established agreements of co-operation and research collaboration, and student exchange programmes with universities in Austria, UK, China, Australia and Korea.
