Accomplishments

As at today, Dr. Tse has a total of 181 publications, including many journal papers, referred proceedings, books and chapters, professional and consultancy reports, and news reports. Being the Principal Investigator, he has received grants/donations/consultancy worth of $11,837,142. In the capacity of Principal Investigator and Co-Investigator, he has received grants/donations/consultancy worth of $33,376,592.

Ir Dr. Peter W. Tse has been awarded the PCN (Personnel Certification in Non-Destructive Testing) Certificate of Competence in Condition Monitoring from the British Institute in Non-Destructive Testing (BINDT) and completed the Vibration Training Course - Vibration Analysis Level 2 in according with ISO 18436 Part 2 offered by the VCI Consultancy Limited, United Kingdom. He has been invited as Keynote and Distinguished Speaker in a number of international and local conferences and symposiums. He also acted as Conference Co-Organizer, Committee Member of various International Steering and Advisory Committees for many international conferences.

Dr. Tse is currently the Group Leader of the Smart Engineering Asset Management (SEAM) Laboratory which was established with the generous supports from the industry. The setup of SEAM is to promote the importance of engineering asset management and introduce the latest technologies in maintenance as well as equipment health monitoring to both worldwide and local professionals, engineers and organizations. To date, SEAM is the only local university unit addressing engineering asset management and maintenance issues in remarkable scale. SEAM has also formed the first global SEAM consortium with some of the big consortiums around the world. Currently, SEAM has collaborations and consultancy projects with over 30 companies, including public utilities, manufacturers and transportation service providers. Two of the most prominent deliverables of SEAM are the Smart Asset Maintenance System (SAMS) and the Expert System for Generator/Engine Health Monitoring. Both of them have been widely adopted by the industry, especially SAMS. Some of their applications include monitoring the health of coal milling machines for power generation, traction motors for underground trains, chillers of malls and buildings, production lines for beverages and electronic component assembly, stacker cranes for logistics, various pumps, cars, generators, printing machines etc. Because of Dr. Tse tremendous accomplishments in industry and in community, his research activities and contributions have been reported in over 47 newspapers and professional news, including Radio and TV News interviews.
