Dr. Yeung obtained his BSc degree in Industrial Engineering from the University of Hong Kong, and MSc degree in Computer Integrated Manufacturing from Loughborough University, UK. Since his graduation, he worked in a PCB assembly company in Hong Kong as an Industrial Engineer. He joined the Department in 1990 and worked as the Assistant Laboratory Officer. Since then, he has been promoted twice and is now the Laboratory Manager supervising a team of 26 technical staff members, fully responsible for the daily operation of the MEEM Laboratories. Apart from the daily administrative work, Dr. Yeung also finds time to strengthen his expertise and research interests in the field of computer science and information systems for the enhancement of the operation of MEEM Laboratories. He has successfully implemented a number of projects in this area which includes the design and implementation of a computer network; dynamic WWW Laboratory Information System (IntraMEL) in MEEM Laboratories; as well as a Computer Aided Time-Tabling System (CATS) in MEEM Laboratories; the design of an in-house flexible machining cell, etc. He obtained his PhD degree from the De Montfort University, UK, in the field of Flexible Assembly System Control Architecture Design, investigating into an integrated and flexible methodolgy for the design and real-time control of flexible assembly systems. He is appointed the Chief Technology Officer(CTO) of the Enterprise Knowledge Integration and Transfer (E-KIT) Laboratory, where he developed numerous strategies, framework, tools and software systems to support the continuous improvement of manufacturing organisations. Dr. Yeung also developed numerous practical training materials in area of Lean Manufacturing, One-Piece-Flow, Process management, Work standarisation, Kaizen, Poka-Yoke, Knowledge Management, Six Sigma, ERP and so forth.
