CURRENCY EXCHANGE
When you arrive at the airport, exchange some money to HK dollars. Use this cash to meet your transportation needs from the airport. Since airport exchange rates are usually quite high, exchange only a small amount.

Once at City University, look for the Hang Seng Bank on the fourth floor of the Academic Building. They will gladly exchange other currencies for Hong Kong dollars (their hours are Mon-Fri from 9 am - 5 pm, Saturdays from 9 am - 1 pm). There is also a twenty four hour ATM machine at the same location, and they are quite common throughout Hong Kong.

If you have a debit card, you may use it to withdraw HK dollars at any bank or compatible ATM machine. Debit cards have always been the best cash solution for us, and there is seldom a surcharge. However, there may be a
HK$2000 limit per withdrawal.

Most Hong Kong department stores will accept major credit cards. Street markets will not. Credit cards usually involve a surcharge. And, it never hurts to have a few dollars in traveler's checks, just in case!

THE HONG KONG SPECIAL ADMINISTRATIVE REGION
Hong Kong is a vibrant city which offers the best of East and West. Its dramatic, contemporary architecture makes its skyline one of the most famous  in the world. Hong Kong is further enhanced by the new Tsing Ma Bridge, the longest suspension bridge in the world, carrying both road and rail traffic. In addition to this, Hong Kong is well known as a shopping metropolis. Supporting all of these is Hong Kong's rich heritage which includes its colonial past and its Chinese culture. During June, the weather is warm and sunny with average temperatures ranging from 22 C to 27 C.
