Each year a group of Final Year
full-time AATI students volunteer to serve as mentors
for the new intake. Their job is to help new students
like yourself to adjust to the demands of university study,
to help you find your way around quickly, to make friends,
and to give you the benefit of their experience, in other
words, to help you to make the most of your two years
on campus. They will meet with you in the first few weeks
of your first term and make it much easier for you to
settle in.
We hope that the help they give you will inspire you to
volunteer when you are in your final year. This is a very
worthwhile service which is officially recognized and
for which you will receive two days' training. A member
of the AATI teaching team serves as an advisor to the
mentors but the main initiative comes from the mentors
themselves. |

The AATI teaching team are also unofficial mentors – our job
is to prepare you as well as we can for work and further study
after you graduate and to make sure that while you are at
CCCU you enjoy the best possible conditions for making the
most of yourself. We will give you advice and encouragement
and guidance. Make sure that you seek it when you feel you
need it. Please read the AATI Charter for Staff and Students
- teaching and learning is a joint effort, with both sides
playing their part. Together we can make your two years at
CCCU a success.
