This second course of two courses aims to train students to communicate proficiently in Korean in a variety of situations: social, cultural and professional. On completion of this course, students will be able to participate in situational conversations with a comprehensive knowledge of essential vocabulary and expressions for communicating in Korean.
Practical Written Korean I

This first course of two courses aims to train students with the basic style in practical written Korean through various reading and writing contexts: social, cultural and professional. The course will broaden students・ knowledge of the Korean language and enhance students・ understanding of the differences between written and spoken forms of the language. On completion of the course, students will have acquired a general and comprehensive knowledge of the various written forms of Korean language.
Practical Written Korean II

This second course of two courses aims to train students with the practical written Korean through various reading and writing contexts: social, cultural and professional. The course will further broaden students・ knowledge of the Korean language and enhance students・ understanding of the differences between written and spoken forms of the language. On completion of the course, students will have acquired a general and comprehensive knowledge of the various written forms of Korean language. They will be able to read correspondence and documents, and can write simple reports, letters, emails and short essays.
Introduction to Korean Culture and Society

This course aims to provide a basic introduction to Korean culture and custom, and its modern society with an emphasis on popular culture. It will also include a brief historical overview. After completing this course, students will be familiar with Korean culture, customs, society, and the issues of contemporary Korea.
Korean for Tourism and Hospitality

This course aims to introduce students to the language of tourism and enable them to work as tour leader in Korea and Hong Kong. The course also aims to develop students' ability in using Korean to introduce the tourist spots of the two countries and to provide them with a comprehensive knowledge of the typical and appropriate styles of polite Korean used in hospitality services. Upon completing the course, students will be able to introduce and provide information to tourists about the special cultural and national characteristics of Korean society.
Advanced Spoken Korean I

This first course of two courses aims to advance students' communication capability through various language activities including role-play, presentation, simulated conversation and free discussion. After completing the course, students will be able to participate in conversations relating to topics in current affairs, social and cultural issues. They will also be able to present orally in Korean.
Advanced Spoken Korean II

This second course of two courses aims to reinforce and to further develop students' communication capability through various language activities. On completion of the course, students will be able to carry out conversation and dialogue freely with Korean native speakers at various social situations. In addition, students will have acquired a high level of proficiency for various communication purposes.
Advanced Written Korean I

This first course of two courses aims to acquaint students with the current formats, terminologies and styles in Korean writings in various contexts: social, cultural and academic. On completion of the course, the students will have acquired a comprehensive knowledge of the variety of written Korean.
Advanced Written Korean II

This second course of two courses aims to reinforce and to further develop students・ reading and writing skills in Korean. The course will deepen students' interest and broaden their horizons of the up-to-date and overall understanding of contemporary Korea through reading and writing practices of advanced level. On completion of the course, students will be able to understand, analyse and summarise the key points of Korean articles, essays and extracts of advanced level of Korean. Students will be also able to write proficiently for a variety of purposes.
Korean in Business Contexts

The course aims to develop and enhance students' ability in speaking, listening, reading and writing Korean in a variety of business situations. Students will be familiarized with the format, organization and content of business documents. On completion of the course, students will be able to communicate effectively in different business and administration situations in oral and written Korean.
Bilingual Project (Korean/Chinese)

This course aims to enable students to explore a bilingual communications-related topic (Korean and Chinese). It provides students with a situation to integrate and apply previously acquired bilingual communication skills and knowledge to produce effective bilingual products. The course develops and reinforces autonomous learning by allowing students to work and research in an open situation with minimum control and guidance to motivate them to utilize what they have learned.
