  About University of Central Lancashire
   
  The University of Central Lancashire(UCLan) is located in Preston, the commercial, administrative and cultural hub of Lancashire. With a history stretching back over 175 years, the University was officially established as a university in 1992. It is a dynamic and modern university offering over 3000 courses across six faculties.

UCLan currently has over 25,000 students at undergraduate and post-graduate levels, studying a wide range of programmes, and has partnership agreements with universities in many different countries around the world. Its programmes are up-to-date, underpinned by the latest research and scholarship. They are designed to embody key skills and competencies, including work experience so as to lay a strong foundation for your life after university.

The Department of Languages and International Studies is a leader in the field of teaching English for professional purposes, especially English for International Business. It was rated as “excellent” in its most recent official inspection by UK Government authorities.
