Throughout the semesters in the Bilingual Communication Program in French and English, I find that I have been able to learn a lot of different things within the program. I had the privilege to improve myself in the French language, as well as given the chance to delve deeper into the French culture. It was a privilege to be able to be a part of the program. It was a great experience, from the first day till the last.

Throughout these two years in Bilingual Communication (French & English), I learnt a lot in French, the language itself, the culture, the media and French business corporate. Not only focusing on the study, I am learnt through activities, role plays and movies. From a beginner, to know how to use this language practically in France, it is an amazing and fantastic experience for me.

| I am a student of English for International
Corporate Communication. Being a former student of BCSFE
(French and English option), it is a valuable experience
for me.
Apart from learning French, I had the chance to learn
to work and most important learn independently. Project-based
assignements allowed me to apply the French learned
in class to daily uses. In addition,it allowed me to
try out and learn some skills that may be very useful
in my future career or studies. Although the Final Year
Project was harsh and time-challenging to us, it provided
a great opportunity for us to work with a company (in
my case a French Bookshop: Parentheses-Continental Books
Ltd) and apply everything to the real world. These opportunities
helped me a great deal.

Studying the French program definitely
gave me an unforgettable experience. It is very practical.
I'm so impressed to learn French language and culture
in such an unusual way, e.g. reading French comics, listening
to French pop songs, making TV commercial in French...etc.
Besides, the teachers are very nice and supportive. They
always encouraged us to try and practice French.
Within 2 years, we can communicate in both written and
spoken French properly. What's more? The optional summer
course gave me a chance to explore the French world by
myself. It helped my own personal growth as well. Although
I'm studying English and communication now, the knowledge
I learnt from the French program is still very useful.
Even, I work as a part time in a French-speaking company.
The French program is worth studying.

| I am one of the students of the
Associate Degree of Bilingual Communication Studies AABCS
(French and English). Currently I am studying English
for the Professions in City University of Hong Kong. Meanwhile
I work as a part-time tutor in music centre.
French seduced me with its romantic style of articulation.
I engaged in lots of role plays in my first year of
study which helped me to build confidence in speaking
French. I was also attracted by other languages, I took
Korean as an out-of-discipline course.
Thanks to the professor, I was enabled to participate
in local and international competitions to test my language
ability. I have successfully participated in one national
speech and writing contest jointly organized by the
Alliance Française and the Consulate General of France,
a lyric writing and singing competition in Hong Kong.
In year 2005, I was shortlisted in the final round
of 7 th International French Poetry Contest among overseas
universities, and in 2006 received a "special distinction"
at the 8th Contest.
My interpersonal skills and computer skills had improved
a lot with various group projects. I enjoyed analysing
the modality of commercials. My prospect is to work
for a magazine company or French companies.
After these two years of study, I sat for the entrance
exam and was put into level 5 in the 4-week summer programme
in l'Universite de Bourgogne in France. The certificate
stated that my class was up to level B2 in European
language standard. I studied language (comprehension, productive
writing, listening), culture and civilization (literature,
history and history of arts). Of course I have made
a lot of friends and it was the best experience I could
have.

I had a great learning experience
in the programme AABCSFE. It was a lot of fun doing this
course. Not only did we learn the French language but
we also learnt the culture of France and about it's people.
Apart from the
languages, I had learnt a lot, the communication skills,
teamwork, presentation skills, time management, etc. I
enjoyed myself immensely in this programme and if given
the chance, I wouldn't mind doing this course
once again. And definitely, I would like to acknowledge
the tutors for making this course such a fun learning
experience for us.

I received a sponsorship from the
Division and attended a summer course in Dijon. The French
teachers are very active in creating these opportunties
for us. Then, I decided to stay one whole year in France
improving my
French at the Universite Paul-Valery in Montpellier, in
the south of France .
I had so much fun there. I met a lot of interesting
people and made friends with other students from different
cultural backgrounds. I travelled to Italy and saw Rome
and Florence. I have kept in touch with my classmates
after I came back to Hong Kong. I visited Stockholm
and stayed with my Swedish friends. While I was there
I also took an overnight trip on a tourist ferry to
Finland. My Japanese friend, who likes Chinese food
very much, visited me in Hong Kong, and some American
friends I met in Montpellier recently sent me a box
of brownies. It really was a multicultural experience
being in France. I came back from France, I did my top-up
degree (BA (Hons) in English for International Corporate
Communication, which is offered through the Division
of Langauge
Studies by the University of Central Lancashire.
