It develops students’ ability to write proficiently for a variety of purposes but also to participate in situational conversations in areas concerning current affairs, social and cultural issues as well as to do simple interpretation/translation between English and Spanish. They should also be able to do oral presentations on selected topics. |

| This first of two courses aims to familiarize students with the format, organization and content of business documents; to develop students ability to analyze and discuss the effectiveness of written business documents; give students extensive practice in writing a variety of business documents based on realistic scenarios presented in the course; familiarize students with the structure, organization and dynamics of formal business meetings and negotiations; and to heighten students’ awareness of the elements which contribute to effective business discussions and negotiations. |

| Bilingual Project (Spanish/English) |

| The aim is to give students the opportunity to demonstrate their data collection, research, organizational, presentation, time management skills and initiative under conditions of minimum supervision and guidance. The Bilingual Project provides a situation for students to integrate learned skills and knowledge in exploring a new topic. The Bilingual Project is an individual piece of work. |
