“Rebuilding the Tong-an Ships: New Media Art Exhibition” is a collaboration between City University of Hong Kong and the National Palace Museum in Taipei. The exhibition brings to life the sea-faring culture and the Qing Navy’s advancement during the 19th century.
CityU Library will be screening a number of documentaries in September and October about Chinese and international maritime history.

Competition
To celebrate the “Rebuilding the Tong-an Ships: New Media Art Exhibition”, CityU Library is inviting students to submit a short piece of creative writing inspired by the Exhibition and one of the films in our special maritime history screenings. All entries have the opportunity to win a cash coupon of HK$100 (Ten prizes), and the most creative entry will win a cash coupon of HK$500.
The creative writing can be in whatever format the films and the “Rebuilding the Tong-an Ships” exhibition inspire you to create. For example, it might be a poem, a short essay, a film review, or a piece of creative fiction. The text can be in English or Chinese.
To submit your entries: write your entries on the provided forms inside the Mini Theatre and submit to the reference counter, or submit a digital entry to lbinf@cityu.edu.hk 
The competition closes on 16 Oct 2015. The result will be announced on 30 Oct 2015 via the Library’s Facebook. Winners will also be notified by email.

1405 鄭和下西洋   Zheng He's voyages  “為穿越歷史的迷霧,探尋真相,攝製隊利用大規模的航拍、高科技的三維動畫,再現600年前驚心動魄的場景。” In order to transcend the world of history and search for the truth, the film crew made use of large-scale aerial photography and hi-tech 3D animation to show the thrilling scenes of exploration 600 years ago.
