Notes :

  1. Users may report any apparent malfunction of the copiers to the appropriate counters as indicated on the copiers.
  2. Users may report "loss and found" to the nearest counter. However, it is advisable to report also to the Security Counter as all the found items will be sent to the Security Counter on the same day.

Main Services Provided by the Circulation Counter

  • Enquiry :
    • main Circulation Counter
      Enquiries about borrowing, course reserves, Library Tickets, Interlibrary Loan Services, photocopying services, facility booking and other circulation-related services.

  • Borrowing & Return :
    • main Circulation Counter
      Borrowing of Circulation books, as well as accompanying materials of Semi-closed Collection.

    • side Circulation Counter
      Borrowing and return of the media resources requested from Library Archive, microform materials, Curriculum Collection and other media resources reserved for specific courses. This counter also deals with the check out and return of Closed Access materials.

  • Interlibrary Loan Services (ILL) :
    • main Circulation Counter
      Submission of ILL requests, collection and return of ILL materials, enquiries about the status of ILL requests, etc.

  • UGC Book Return :
    • main Circulation Counter
      Returning of books borrowed from other UGC libraries with CityU-issued JULAC cards.

  • Forgotten Library PIN :
      Users can request deletion of the forgotten Library PIN at both the main and side Circulation Counters.

  • Forms Available :
      Semi-closed Reserve Book Request Card, Closed Access Collection Request Card, Reservation of Media Resources for Class Use Request Form, Alumni Library Ticket Application Form, Spouse Loan Privileges Application Form, Interlibrary Loan Request Forms, UGC Book Return Form, Loss/Replacement of Library Ticket Form, Library Recommendation Form, Departmental Photocopying Request Forms.

Main Services Provided by the IT Help Desk

  • Enquiry : Information enquiry services related to the use of PC workstations, fast printing services and standalone databases in the Oval. Queries on the use of the equipment inside the Special Needs Rooms can also be directed to this counter.

  • Oval PCs: Current CityU staff and students can use the PC workstations by logging in with their CityU Electronic ID.
  • Fast Printing Services : Two Octopus-Card-operated network printers are located at the outside rim of the Oval to provide fast printing services for users at the Oval. The printing charge is HK$ 0.3 per page for A-4 Black & White and HK$ 3.0 per page for A-4 Color.

Main Services Provided by the Information Space Counter

  • Enquiry : Information enquiry services related to the use of PC workstations, printers,scanners and seminar room in the Information Space.
    Telephone enquiry : 3442 6536
  • Facility Booking : Current CityU staff and students can use the PC workstations by logging in with their CityU Electronic ID. Advance booking for individual PC workstations is available to eligible students via the Library Room, Carrel & PC Workstation Booking System. Teaching staff may book the Library Seminar 3 for small group teaching and seminar by sending an email to lb@cityu.edu.hk.
  • Add Print Quota Limit : Eligible students can add their print quota limit as assigned by Computing Services Centre at the counter during the counter service hours.

  • Law Loose-leaf Materials : Borrowing of loose-leaf Law Reference materials for use inside the Library.

  • Law Discussion Room : Booking of the Room for Moot exercises.

  • Forms Available : Law Section Loan Forms, Interlibrary Loan Request Forms, Library Recommendation Forms, On-line Bibliographic Searching Request Forms.
