Collections on the Move

<dc:identifier>City University of Hong Kong Library News</dc:identifier>

Over the years, users have frequently commented that it is inconvenient to have
books related to Humanities and Social Sciences shelved in two separate and
distant areas. To improve the ease of access to the Humanities and Social Sciences
collections, books within the Library of Congress Classes A – G will be shelved
by classes HM – P to form the Humanities and Social Sciences Collection, providing
one-stop subject access to users. In order to group these books together, we
need to relocate books from one area of the Library to another. While these
books are being relocated we will provide additional directional signage and
staff guidance to assist users with locating their needed materials. This phase
of the renovation project will be completed by the end of September. We hope
that the relocation of the items will improve users' access to the Library's
collections and improve our service quality. We recognize the importance of
easy access to Library materials, and appreciate your patience and support
of this phase of our renovation.
