Library Workshop: Keeping Current with Research: RSS and Journal Alerts

The Library is pleased to announce the captioned hands-on workshop:

In this workshop, you will learn how to:

• Identify a variety of ways to keep abreast of your research interests.
• Recognize what alerting services and RSS tools are in order to apply them effectively.
• Create email or RSS alerts in order to automatically receive updated research information.

The workshop will include hands-on experience.

Google Reader and My Yahoo will be used during this hands-on workshop.  A Google or Yahoo account is therefore required for participation in the workshop. If you do not already have one of these accounts, please create either a Google [Create a Google account: https://accounts.google.com/NewAccount] or a Yahoo account [Create a Yahoo account: https://edit.yahoo.com/registration] before you register for the workshop.

Also double-check that you have no problem accessing your Circulation Record [https://lib.cityu.edu.hk/patroninfo]. For students, your initial PIN is the same as your electronic ID password.  For staff, you need to create your Library PIN. If you have forgotten your PIN, please go to the Circulation Counter in the Library or ring 3442-8316 to request deletion of your PIN so that you can create a new one.
