Pearl River Delta and Yangtze River Delta Collection

Search in CityU LibraryFind

As the pioneers in China's reform, Pearl River Delta (PRD) and Yangtze River Delta (YRD) are the economic powerhouses and growth poles of China, influencing the Country politically, economically and culturally. Back in 1993, the Run Run Shaw Library of the City University of Hong Kong established the Pearl River Delta Collection to capture related documentations on China's success story. Then, in 2005, the Collection was renamed to become the Pearl River Delta and Yangtze River Delta Collection, with its focus extended to cover the Yangtze River Delta. Materials collected include formal publications (such as books, periodicals, newspapers, statistical yearbooks, reports, maps, microforms, AV materials and alike), ephemeral materials (such as pamphlets, brochures and guides) and economics and financial online electronic databases.

In July 2018, the physical collection has been relocated and merged with the respective Library collection. Records of related library materials (both existing items and future acquisition) are flagged in the system to enable the display of them as a virtual collection for easy discovery by the users.
