Appendix III:
Penalty Scheme for Misuse of Mobile Phones/Pagers in the Library
All mobile phones and pagers must be turned off or switched to vibrate/silent
mode before admission to the Library. Mobile phone conversation is strictly prohibited
within the Library area. Offenders will be verbally warned and those who continue
to cause disturbances to other users will be subject to the following penalties
which are formulated in consultation with the Information Services Advisory Committee
and the Students' Union and have been in effect since March 1999.

Users' names will be recorded; |
| Second Offence* : |
Users will be served with a warning notice
and their names will be recorded; |
| Third Offence* : |
Users will be barred from entering the
Library for 1 day; |
| Fourth Offence* : |
Users will be barred from entering the
Library for 1 week; |
| Fifth Offence* : |
Users will be barred from entering the
Library for 1 month. |
* Within a period of twelve months.
