潘雲鶴院士 (Academician Pan Yunhe)

 

潘雲鶴,電腦應用專家。出生於浙江省杭州市。一九八一年起歷任浙江大學電腦系講師、副教授、教授。一九九五年年五月至二OO六年八月擔任浙江大學校長。一九九七年當選為中國工程院院士。二OO六年至今擔任中國工程院常務副院長(正部長級)。現兼任國務院學位委員會委員、中國科學技術協會顧問等職。

 

潘院士是中國智慧CAD和電腦美術領域的開拓者之一。長期從事電腦圖形學、電腦輔助設計技術、人工智慧和工業設計的研究,在虛擬實境、電腦美術、智慧CAD、電腦輔助產品創新、數位文物保護和數位圖書館等領域,發表多篇相關論文,多次獲得國家、省部級科技獎勵。

 

潘院士認為藝術講究對稱、協調、節奏和重點突出,這些也正是科學所追求的。書法中講究洗練、對稱、和諧,在科學的公式中多有體現。再者,搞藝術的人擅長形象思維,缺之,藝術難以創新;做科學的人則擅長邏輯思維,不然,無法深入真理的腹地。兩者的特點不同,對立而互補。關於書法的形式之美,他認為行楷有探戈的風情,草書則恰似紅綢舞。從舞姿中,可以聯想顏真卿、柳公權、黃庭堅和二王的書法。在臨帖之前先讀一遍帖,效果會更好。

 

Professor Pan Yunhe was graduated from Tongji University in 1970 and received his Master degree from Zhejiang University in 1981. He is a professor of computer science at Zhejiang University. Since 1995 he has been serving as President of Zhejiang University. He is currently a member of the Academic Degrees Committee of the State Council in China, Chairman of the Chinese Association of Image and Graphics, Vice Chairman of Chinese Association of Mechanical Engineering. He was elected Member of CAE in 1997 and Vice-President of CAE in June 2006.

 

Professor Pan is one of the pioneers in the fields of ICAD and computer arts in China. He has introduced AI into computer graphics and CAD technology, proposed the models of synthetic reasoning and imagery thinking and successfully developed several new practical ICAD/CAM systems, including the ICAD system for art pattern creation, the automatic advertising system, the ICAD systems for building layouts and the pipelines planning system, etc. He also has made remarkable achievements in the fields of virtual reality and the techniques of computer-aided product innovation.

 

Professor Pan has won 12 national, provincial and ministerial scientific and technological progress awards, and published over 300 papers and numerous books. He recently authored or co-authored several books including Cultural Composition; 《文化构成》; A computational approach to digital Chinese painting and calligraphy; Digital preservation for heritages: technologies and applications; A modern approach to intelligent animation: theory and practice.
