Non-Local Qualifications Acceptable for Meeting the General Entrance Requirements for Bachelor's Degree Programmes

The qualifications below are the minimum required for satisfying the General Entrance Requirements for bachelor's degree programmes. The list is not intended to be exhaustive and other appropriate qualifications will be considered. Possession of the qualifications in no way guarantees acceptance. To be eligible for consideration for admission, applicants should have attained the minimum grade specified, or where a grade is not specified, an acceptable pass in the qualification.

Korea (South)

Normally 1 year of successful study at a recognised university. In exceptional cases, students who have achieved excellent grades in Immumgye Kodung Hakkyo Choeupchang (Academic Upper Secondary School Certificate) may be considered for direct entry to degree programmes.

Macau Cambridge Overseas Higher School Certificate (COHSC) / GCE Advanced Level (3 passes). Two AS subjects are considered to be equivalent to one AL subject.

Thailand Normally 1 year of successful study at a recognised university. In exceptional cases, students who have achieved excellent grades in Mathayom / M6 may be considered for direct entry to degree programmes.
UK

GCE Advanced Level (3 passes), two AS subjects are considered to be equivalent to one AL subject.
Business and Technology Education Council (BTEC) National Diploma or National Certificate
Scottish Certificate of Education at the Higher Level (4 subjects)
International Baccalaureate Diploma (minimum score 24 over six subjects) or European Baccalaureate (average score 60)

USA High School Diploma plus minimum of 1650 on SATI or 23 composite on ACT, or three subjects in Advanced Placement Test with 4 in each
International qualifications
International Baccalaureate (IB) International Baccalaureate Diploma with an overall minimum score of 24 over six subjects
GCE system
(GCE A-level and GCSE)
Applicants from the General Certificate of Education system require three passes in Advanced Level subjects. Two AS subjects are considered to be equivalent to one AL subject.
Other international qualifications Refer to the country to which the qualification belongs for the minimum entrance requirements.

Notes

  1. Applicants whose entrance qualification is obtained in a language other than English will need an acceptable result in an approved English language qualification such as TOEFL (213 computer-based test / 550 paper-based test / 79 internet-based test) or IELTS (overall band score of 6).

  2. In addition to the General Entrance Requirements, individual programmes may require specific subject background.

  3. Qualifications that are not listed in the above table will be considered case-by-case. As a general guideline, school-leaving qualifications acceptable for university entry in your own country are usually recognised. For countries with less than 13 years of schooling at the primary and secondary levels, applicants may be required to take a foundation year of study if admitted.

  4. Entrance requirements are subject to ongoing review. The University reserves the right to amend the requirements from time to time.
