Student Extracurricular Activities

CityU is committed to providing students with a well-rounded education. Our philosophy of whole-person development encompasses the five traditional Chinese areas of education-spiritual, intellectual, physical, social and aesthetics-as well as aspects of emotional and career development that are a part of Western philosophy.

To foster whole-person development, our Student Development Services (SDS) offers activities designed to cultivate leadership skills and encourage self-discovery. These activities range from training workshops, mentoring schemes, Buddy Schemes, Student Ambassadors, on-campus service-learning opportunities and sports, to art and culture. Please refer to SDS’s website at http://www.cityu.edu.hk/sds/ for more information.

Apart from the activities organized by SDS, more than 50 student organizations including departmental societies and interest clubs offer a wide range of activities for students' enjoyment in the areas of performing arts, sports, IT, and creative work. For students who are interested in music, they are welcomed to join the CityU Philharmonic Orchestra, Chinese Orchestra and Choir.
