Postdoc/Research Assistant in the Department of Veterinary Clinical Sciences (Appointment for 12 months with possibility of extension) [Ref. C/R/316/09]

Tumour Virology Programme


Duties

The appointee will join a dynamic team advancing animal health and welfare by investigating infectious diseases of companion animals. Duties include performing and optimizing PCR, qPCR and immunoassays.

Requirements

A Master’s/Bachelor’s degree in Veterinary/Biomedical Science or a related discipline, and no more than 6 years of service at the University.

Proficiency in molecular biology and diagnostics; meticulous attention to detail and record keeping; willingness and ability to adapt and acquire new skills; good interpersonal skills and team ethic.  Fluency in both written and spoken English and Chinese and a background in protein production and purification and/or TEM would be an advantage.

Candidates with a PhD degree and no more than 3 years’ experience after the award of a PhD degree may be considered for appointment as Postdoc.

Salary and Conditions of Service

Salary offered will be highly competitive, commensurate with qualifications and experience.  Fringe benefits include leave, medical and dental consultations at the campus clinic.
