Postdoctoral Fellow in the Department of Linguistics and Translation (Appointment for 10 months with possibility of extension) [Ref. C/R/216/09]

 

Project

A collaborative project under Hong Kong Institute for Advanced Study and Department of Linguistics and Translation

Duties

Collect, input and compile behavioural and electrophysiological (EEG/ERP) data; analyse and compute the collected data by using Excel, SPSS, R, MATLAB and other statistical packages; prepare research reports based upon data results; and perform any other duties as assigned.

Requirements

A PhD in Psychology/Cognitive Neuroscience/Biomedical Engineering or related disciplines, with no more than 3 years’ postdoctoral experience.  Good knowledge of and solid experience in electrophysiological data pre-processing and analysis; excellent programming skills (R, MATLAB or equivalent); willingness to work individually and in a small team; being flexible and independent; and strong initiative to complete tasks in a timely and professional manner are required.

Salary and Conditions of Service

Salary offered will be highly competitive, commensurate with qualifications and experience.  Fringe benefits include leave, medical and dental consultations at the campus clinic.
