Research Associate/Postdoc in the Centre for Public Affairs and Law (Appointment for 24 months with possibility of extension) [Ref. B/R/913/09]

 


Duties

  1. Conduct research for the Centre, including literature review, data collection and data analysis;
  2. Prepare various publications, including policy papers, marketing and publicity materials;
  3. Assist the directors and associate directors of the Centre in handling administrative matters;
  4. Organize/coordinate scholarly activities and events; and
  5. Perform other duties as assigned.

Requirements

A PhD degree in Political Science/Sociology/Law or a related discipline, with no more than 3 years of experience after the award of a PhD degree.  The appointee should possess research experience in contentious politics, law and society or a related field; high analytical and methodological skills; the ability to work independently within a team; and an excellent command of both written and spoken English and Chinese.  Track record in research project and journal publication a plus.

Candidates with a PhD degree plus at least 3 years' relevant experience after the award of a PhD degree may be considered for appointment as Research Associate.

Salary and Conditions of Service

Salary offered will be highly competitive, commensurate with qualifications and experience.  Fringe benefits include leave, medical and dental consultations at the campus clinic.
