Research Associate/Research Assistant in the Department of Mechanical and Biomedical Engineering (Appointment for 12 months) [Ref. A/R/995/09]

 

Project

Optimization of the Service Robot with Jacket-Sealant End Effector (Phase 2)

Duties

Conduct research work related to the mechanical design and control of robots and the development of robot prototype, design the details of controls and instrumentation in support of robotic development, cooperate with other team members and engineers to provide system integration solution, construct the experimental set-up, conduct the testing of the robots and modules, summarize and analyze the results, and prepare technical reports.

Requirements

A good honours degree in Mechanical Engineering/Mechatronic Engineering/ Electronic Engineering/Computer Engineering/Computer Science or related disciplines.  Experience in CAD, prototype development, 3D printing, hoist device and operation is a plus.  Knowledge of or experience in electronic design and development of robotic systems is preferred.

Salary and Conditions of Service

Salary offered will be highly competitive, commensurate with qualifications and experience.  Fringe benefits include leave, medical and dental consultations at the campus clinic.
