Project

Isotope Substitution to Enable Precise Structure Determination at China Spallation Neutron Source

Duties

  1. Design and carry out neutron scattering experiments at China Spallation Neutron Source and other neutron facilities world-wide, on one of the following topics:
    • Structure and phase transitions in metallic glass and glass-forming metallic liquids
    • Phase stability and deformation behaviors of high-entropy alloys
    • Magneto-elastic coupling in magnetic shape memory alloys
  2. Assist in the design and construction of sample environments to enable the planned neutron scattering experiments.  Complementary studies with synchrotron X-ray will be supported.



Requirements

A PhD in Physics or related disciplines, with no more than 3 years' experience after the award of a PhD degree.  The applicant must be able to work in a team environment.  Prior experience in either neutron/synchrotron X-ray scattering is required.  Strong communication skills would be an advantage.

Salary and Conditions of Service

Salary offered will be highly competitive, commensurate with qualifications and experience.  Fringe benefits include leave, medical and dental consultations at the campus clinic.
