Research Fellow/Postdoctoral Fellow in the Department of Systems Engineering and Engineering Management (Appointment for 6 months with possibility of extension) [Ref. A/R/1036/09]

 

Project

Data-driven Prognostic Technical De-risking of Utility Scale Solar Energy Projects

Duties

Programme, develop and implement the system for prognostic risk analysis including data extraction algorithm development, database design, data processing and cleaning, data visualization and analytics, modelling and estimation and model evaluation to support the automated de-risking of quality assurance of solar energy projects; consolidate materials for research and reports; and perform any other duties as assigned.

Requirements

  1. A PhD in Statistics/Data Science/Computer Science or related disciplines, with no more than 3 years’ postdoctoral experience;
  2. Good knowledge of and solid experience in data processing, cleaning, analysis and modelling;
  3. Excellent programming skills (R, Python or equivalent);
  4. Enthusiastic about research collaborations with industry and quality assurance (of solar panels);
  5. Excellent communication skills (both written and spoken English);
  6. Willingness to work individually and in a small team; being flexible and independent; and strong initiative to complete tasks in a timely and professional manner; and
  7. Professional manner of working with both academia and corporations.


Candidates with a PhD plus appropriate experience or outstanding research performance may be considered for appointment as Research Fellow.

Salary and Conditions of Service

Salary offered will be highly competitive, commensurate with qualifications and experience.  Fringe benefits include leave, medical and dental consultations at the campus clinic.
