Environmental Applications and Impacts of the Blockchain Technology for Urban Resilience and Sustainability

Blockchain technology has received extensive media attention with respect to Bitcoin, and capacity to influence supply-chain management and resource conservation, among other things.  The utility of such technology has extended beyond the financial sector.  This project will take an interdisciplinary approach to investigate the social, economic, and technological challenges for realizing potential environmental applications of this emerging technology.

Duties

Investigate environmental applications and impacts of the blockchain technology for urban resilience and sustainability.

Requirements

A PhD in Industrial Ecology/Environmental Engineering/Systems Design/Computer Engineering/Network Science or related disciplines, with no more than 3 years’ postdoctoral experience. Experience in a) Blockchain applications and b) Modeling and analysis of complex systemsand/orLife Cycle Assessment; excellent command of written and spoken English are required.

Salary and Conditions of Service
