  1. L-lactate Release by Optogenetic Activation of Astrocytes Rescues Decision-making Deficit in Visceral Hypersensitive Rats
  2. Chronic Pain Induces Hypomyelination: A Causal Mechanism for Brain Circuitry Desynchronization and Impaired Decision Making


Duties

Perform and analyse large-scale in-vivo brain electrophysiology recordings and conduct small animal behavioural studies to characterize the cognitive function and network synchrony.

Requirements

A PhD in Biology/Biomedical Science/Neuroscience from an accredited institution with no more than 3 years of experience after the award of a PhD degree.  Extensive research experience in in-vivo electrophysiology; knowledge of animal behavioural experiments; track record of research through peer-interviewed publications; being highly motivated with demonstrated ability to carry out research; and ability to work well within a team are required.  Good written and spoken communication skills in English are preferred.

Salary and Conditions of Service

Salary offered will be highly competitive, commensurate with qualifications and experience.  Fringe benefits include leave, medical and dental consultations at the campus clinic.
