CityU Veterinary Diagnostic Laboratory Company Limited (CityU VDL) is a wholly owned subsidiary of City University of Hong Kong providing research and diagnostic service to local and regional veterinarians, along with world-class teaching and research facilities for students of CityU’s Jockey Club College of Veterinary Medicine and Life Sciences.
Applications are invited for the above post:
Supporting CityU VDL, the appointee is expected to perform laboratory tests (haematology/biochemistry/histopathology/microbiology/cytology/serology/molecular biology) on various types of specimens from a wide range of animal species for the diagnosis of animal diseases; provide technical support to veterinary diagnosticians; carry out laboratory administrative work (including supervision of junior staff, procurement and inventory management); assist in the evaluation of new diagnostic methods, compiling laboratory documentation, and maintaining the quality system of the laboratory and equipment; and perform any other duties as assigned.
Holiday and weekend rotations are required.
A good honours degree in Biomedical Science/Medical Laboratory Science or related disciplines, with registration from the Hong Kong Medical Laboratory Technologists Board (Part II) or above and relevant working experience in diagnostic laboratory. Good written and spoken English; proficiency in computer skills; and ability to meet deadlines, work independently as well as with laboratory teams are required. Fresh graduates are welcome to apply.
