Technical Officer in the School of Energy and Environment [Ref. D/199/09]

 

Duties

  1. Oversee the operation, repair and maintenance, and the upgrade of facilities in laboratories;
  2. Provide technical and teaching support for research and teaching laboratories;
  3. Work with faculty members and technical team on laboratory issues;
  4. Maintain occupational health and safety standard in laboratories; and
  5. Perform general laboratory duties and other duties as assigned.

 

Requirements

  1. Higher Diploma in Mechanical/Chemical/Electrical Engineering or related disciplines, with at least 2 years’ relevant experience;
  2. Experience in handling, building, and maintaining various types of laboratory equipment and set-ups;
  3. Familiarity with general laboratory safety standards;
  4. Good communication and interpersonal skills;
  5. Good command of written and spoken English and Chinese (including Putonghua);
  6. Willingness to work irregular hours when required; and
  7. Working knowledge of energy science would be an advantage.

Salary and Conditions of Service

Remuneration package will be highly competitive, commensurate with qualifications and experience.  Initial appointment will be made on a fixed-term contract; fringe benefits include gratuity, leave, medical and dental schemes.
