Oversee a new unit of 15-20 staff under the Electrical and Mechanical Services Section, the appointee will be responsible for miscellaneous operation, upgrading, repairing and maintenance of all systems related to water supply, plumbing and drainage, waste water, central air conditioning (including chillers, water tank, plumbing, drainage and water treatment plant, sanitary fittings) as well as some builder’s works in campus buildings, staff quarters, student hostels and off-campus areas. Main duties include to:
A good honours degree/Higher Diploma in Building Services/Mechanical Engineering/Electrical Engineering or related disciplines, a licensed plumber with a valid safety training course certificate (commonly known as “Green Card”) or equivalent issued by organisations recognised by the Commissioner for Labour, and at least 7 years’ hands-on experience in tendering and contract administration, operation, maintenance or project works related to water supply, pumps, plumbing and drainage, and waste water treatment system. Proficiency in MS Office applications (including Word and Excel), Building Automation System (BAS) and AutoCAD; good command of written and spoken English and Chinese; strong sense of risk awareness and responsibility; commitment to teamwork; good interpersonal skills; being self-motivated; capability to supervise in-house and out-sourced works; and ability to work independently under pressure against tight schedules are required. Candidates with good knowledge of design and operation of water supply, plumbing and drainage, water treatment installations and systems in compliance with statutory regulations (e.g. WSD, EPD, BD) and working experience in education institutions are preferred.
