Senior Technical Officer (Electrical and Mechanical) in the Campus Development Office [Ref. C/469/09]

 

Duties

  1. Act as the person-in-charge to ensure fast service response and recovery of operating electrical and mechanical (E&M) equipment/systems;
  2. Assess and monitor the operating condition (including energy performance) of E&M services in the areas of power supply distribution, chilled water supply, air-conditioning services, laboratory facilities and associated gas detection system, fire protection, building management and emergency ventilation systems;
  3. Manage and supervise a team of in-house staff, service providers and contractors; and 
  4. Perform any other assignments.


The appointees are required to work on shift and perform on-call duties.

Requirements

A good honours degree/Higher Diploma in Building Services Engineering/Facilities Management or related disciplines (preferably with a recognized professional qualification), a registered electrical worker (Grade A), with a valid safety training course certificate (commonly known as “Green Card”) or equivalent issued by organisations recognised by the Commissioner for Labour, and at least 7 years’ experience in property management.  Good experience in operating and maintaining building and/or services installation for sizeable organizations,  strong leadership skills with good sense of urgency, knowledge of operating basic office computer software (including Word and Excel), good command of written and spoken English and Chinese, being highly motivated for performance enhancement and reliable in discharging duties under minimal supervision are required.  Proficiency in Putonghua is preferred.

Salary and Conditions of Service

Remuneration package will be highly competitive, commensurate with qualifications and experience.  Initial appointment will be made on a fixed-term contract; fringe benefits include gratuity, leave, medical and dental schemes.
