Duties

Reporting to the Vice-President (Research and Technology), the appointee will head the Knowledge Transfer Office which serves as a vital link between the University and the community in terms of exchange of knowledge, which includes technology know-how, skills and expertise, for both commercial and non-commercial applications. Leading a team of professionals, the appointee is charged with the responsibility of promoting University-industry collaboration through knowledge transfer and commercialization. S/he will be responsible for shaping and promoting the Office's strategies and core services on knowledge transfer, intellectual property management, technology licensing, industrial liaison and mainland operation. The main duties include technology licensing, intellectual property management, raising the awareness of knowledge transfer within the University community, promotion of research output and know-how to the private and public sectors, industrial liaison and outreach; and management of the University mainland operations.

Requirements

The appointee should possess a good honours degree or above in related disciplines. Strong business and technical background with substantial management experience in industrial sector, sound knowledge and network with local industries and international enterprises, excellent interpersonal and communication skills as well as good command of written and spoken English and Chinese (including Putonghua) are required.

Salary and Conditions of Service

Remuneration package will be highly competitive, commensurate with qualifications and experience. Initial appointment will be made on a fixed-term contract; fringe benefits include gratuity, leave, medical and dental schemes.
