Counsellor in the Student Development Services [Ref. B/136/09]

 

Duties

  1. Provide psychological counselling service to students;
  2. Handle cases that require crisis intervention;
  3. Liaise with academic staff, family members and outside agencies on student welfare/well-being matters;
  4. Conduct psychological assessments and surveys;
  5. Develop and conduct developmental and life skills programmes;
  6. Manage campus-wide student development projects; and
  7. Perform any other duties as assigned.


Work on irregular hours may be required.


Requirements

A good honours degree or postgraduate qualification, preferably in Clinical Psychology/Counselling Psychology or related disciplines, with at least 5 years’ post-qualification experience in counselling and student development.  Ability to offer counselling in both English and Cantonese (preferably including Putonghua), and good interpersonal and teamwork skills are required. 

Shortlisted candidates will be invited for a written test.


Salary and Conditions of Service

Remuneration package will be highly competitive, commensurate with qualifications and experience.  Appointment will be made on a 2-year fixed-term contract; fringe benefits include gratuity, leave, medical and dental schemes.
