Executive Officer I/II in the CityU Center on Neutron Scattering [Ref. A/386/09]

 

Duties

  1. Serve as the Centre Administrator for all matters relating to the Centre operations;
  2. Assist in setting up the Centre and the Laboratory;
  3. Manage financial and personnel matters (including procurement, account management and staff recruitment);
  4. Organize conference, seminars and workshops;
  5. Perform research project administration and coordinate the implementation of various research-related initiatives;
  6. Provide administrative and secretarial support for the Centre Director, members and meetings;
  7. Compile relevant reports and documentation; and
  8. Perform any other duties as assigned.


Occasional travel outside Hong Kong will be required.

Requirements

A good honours degree with at least 2 years’ post-qualification administrative experience, preferably in tertiary institutions or research organizations.  Excellent command of written and spoken English and Chinese (including Putonghua); outstanding organizational and creative problem solving skills in a multi-tasking environment; excellent interpersonal skills; and ability to work independently under pressure with a strong sense of responsibility are required.

Candidates with more than 5 years’ experience may be considered for appointment as Executive Officer I.

Shortlisted candidates will be invited for a written test.

Salary and Conditions of Service

Remuneration package will be highly competitive, commensurate with qualifications and experience. Initial appointment will be made on a fixed-term contract; fringe benefits include gratuity, leave, medical and dental schemes.
