Senior Manager (Architecture) (for Mainland China Project) in Campus Development Office [Ref. A/364/09]

 

Duties

The appointee will play an important role in overseeing the planning and construction of the University’s new Mainland China project.  S/he will supervise a team of professionals in building construction as well as monitoring the local design consultants in the Mainland China to design, contract and build; recommend effective measures in time management, site securing and manpower planning to meet the target completion date; ensure quality design standards in compliance with relevant requirement specifications and government regulations; and liaise with local government bodies, user departments, design consultant, construction team and stakeholders of the project to facilitate effective communication and decision making; and perform any other assignments. 

The appointee is required to travel to the site frequently and station occasionally in the Guangdong province.

Requirements

A good honours degree in Architecture/Building Construction Management/ Building Engineering or related disciplines and full membership of HKIA/HKIE/similar professional bodies, with a valid safety training course certificate (commonly known as “Green Card”) issued by the organisations recognised by the Commissioner for Labour, and at least 15 years’ relevant qualification in leading large scale building projects, preferably in the Mainland China.  Excellent command of written and spoken English and Chinese (including Putonghua) as well as good analytical and interpersonal skills are required.  Substantial experience in higher educational institutions and/or experience in managing government subvention projects, and ability to use AutoCAD and Revit are preferred. 

Shortlisted candidates will be invited for a written test.

Salary and Conditions of Service

Remuneration package will be highly competitive, commensurate with qualifications and experience. Initial appointment will be made on a fixed-term contract; fringe benefits include gratuity, leave, medical and dental schemes.
