Senior Technical Officer (Campus Planning) in the Campus Development Office [Ref. A/302/09]

 

Duties

The appointee will assist in the strategic planning, administration and management of campus master plan, campus space planning and allocation, associated capital projects development, and Alterations, Additions and Improvements (AA&I) projects of the University. S/he will play a key role to facilitate project initiation and execution which may require close liaison and coordination with different stakeholders of the University and/or external parties.  Main duties include the following:

  1. Assist in the development of the University’s master plan;
  2. Liaise and coordinate with different stakeholders of the University to facilitate the implementation of University’s master plan executed via capital development and AA&I projects;
  3. Supervise a team to manage the University’s space inventory and drawing records;
  4. Supervise a team to carry out on-going space utilisation monitoring;
  5. Use AutoCAD to draft layout plan;
  6. Coordinate data collection and prepare statistics and reports for management, other offices, and UGC; and
  7. Perform any other assignments.



Requirements

A good honours degree in Architecture or related disciplines, full membership of HKIE/similar professional bodies, with a valid safety training course certificate (commonly known as “Green Card”) or equivalent issued by organisations recognised by the Commissioner for Labour, and at least 7 years’ relevant experience.  Proven track record in project management and coordination; excellent communication skills to work with colleagues from different background and professions; strong sense of responsibility; good leadership and multi-tasks skills; proficiency in IT and MS Office applications (including Word, PowerPoint, and Excel); good command of written and spoken English and Chinese; and ability to complete tasks within tight schedule are required.  Experience in higher education institutions and/or experience in managing government subvention projects; ability to use AutoCAD and Revit are preferred.

Salary and Conditions of Service

Remuneration package will be highly competitive, commensurate with qualifications and experience.  Initial appointment will be made on a fixed-term contract; fringe benefits include gratuity, leave, medical and dental schemes.
