Accounting Officer I/II in the Finance Office [Ref. A/236/09]


Duties

  1. Prepare accurate and timely financial reports;
  2. Reconcile, compile and analyze account information;
  3. Prepare and analyze financial viability studies;
  4. Prepare management reports, financial analysis/forecasts;
  5. Assist in annual budget preparation and budgetary control in accordance with established policies/procedures;
  6. Assist in financial analysis/management for special projects;
  7. Review agreements and assess financial implications;
  8. Assist in financial system development and process improvement;
  9. Provide administrative support to committees;
  10. Handle and resolve enquiries from stakeholders; and
  11. Perform any other duties as assigned.

 

Requirements

A good honours degree in Accounting/Finance with relevant professional qualification and post-qualification experience in all accounting functions. Strong sense of responsibility; ability to work independently and efficiently under pressure; being self-motivated with strong analytical skills; strong communication, organizational and interpersonal skills; proficiency in using Microsoft Office applications (including Excel, Word, Access and PowerPoint) are preferred. Hands-on experience in Oracle Financial System and implementation of other financial systems would be an advantage. 

Candidates with more than 7 years’ experience may be considered for appointment as Accounting Officer I.

Salary and Conditions of Service

Remuneration package will be highly competitive, commensurate with qualifications and experience.  Initial appointment will be made on a fixed-term contract; fringe benefits include gratuity, leave, medical and dental schemes.
