The Department of Veterinary Clinical Sciences was established in March 2020 with the vision to be Asia’s preeminent body advancing veterinary clinical science in response to evolving societal needs. The mission of the Department has three distinct but interrelated components: to train highly-professional, practicing veterinary clinicians through didactic teaching, laboratories, and practical experiences based in state-of-the-art veterinary clinical facilities; to advance animal health through cutting-edge clinical research; and to contribute to the community through excellent service and outreach.

Duties

The appointees will provide clinical teaching in the context of their clinical diagnostic service.  They will help students integrate and apply knowledge, skills and professional attitudes; provide service to the Veterinary Diagnostic Laboratory; and take up administrative work and other duties to facilitate the development of the Department and the College as a whole.  Active involvement in research is expected.

Requirements

Applicants must have a DVM or equivalent degree. Board certification (e.g. European, Australia/New Zealand or American College) in the relevant discipline is also required for appointment at Associate Professor level or above.  For Assistant Professor appointment, credentials for Board certification should be completed or near completion.  Candidates for the post of Professor should demonstrate leadership in development and delivery of the clinical curriculum, and should have a distinguished international record of advancement of the field through clinical scholarship, innovation or research and a sustained contribution to leadership in the discipline internationally.

Salary and Conditions of Service

Remuneration package will be driven by market competitiveness and individual performance.  Excellent fringe benefits include gratuity, leave, medical and dental schemes, and relocation assistance (where applicable).  Initial appointment will be made on a fixed-term contract.
